LAUNDRY SCHOOL
HERE ARE SOME TIPS AND ADVICE FROM WASHOLOGI, HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR LAUNDRY- WASHING AND MAKE YOUR LAUNDRYDETERGENT TO LAST LONGER.
AIR YOUR CLOTHES!
In general we tend to wash our clothes too often. Simply hang out your garment instead, and the clean air will make your garment refreshed.
SMALL STAINS.
Pre-treat stains with a bit of our concentrated liquid detergent before you do your washing! Do not rub on stains; you will risk rubbing the dirt deeper into the fabric. Pre-treat grease-based stains and wash with, WASHOLOGIS- "ORGANIC WASH"
SWEAT AND SMELLY GARMENT
Heavily-smelling garments such as exercise clothing, functional clothing or other textiles where the washing instructions recommend a maximum of 40 degrees, can be extremely difficult to get clean, even from bad odor. Try WASHOLOGI- "SPORT WASH", specially designed to wash clean and remove odor, already at 30 degrees.
RIGHT DOSAGE.
Remember not to use too much laundry detergent! Too much detergent can give unwanted effects and problems and is not environment-friendly. Too much detergent can also lead to detergent residues remain in the clothes, which in turn can lead to skin irritations. Dispense detergent according to dosage instructions. WASHOLOGIS laundry products have clear dosage instructions and the detergents is always delivered with a dosing cup. Use the filled dosing cup inside the drum. Except for pre-washing programs. This way you avoid residues in the detergent drawer so you do not mix different detergents for different fabrics.
SORT YOUR LAUNDRY INTO COLOUR AND TEMPERATURE.
Always sort and separate light and dark garments in different temperatures. Newly bought dark and coloured garments are best washed separately the first time you wash them as they can discolour the rest of your wash. By taking into account these differences, and the conditions for your wash to be clean you cherish both your garments and textiles as well as the environment.
USE A LINGERIE BAG.
Take good care of your washing machine and it will last longer. Clothes with sequins, chains or similar decorations are best washed in a lingerie bag, or a zip-up wash bag.
DO NOT OVER LOAD YOUR WASHING MACHINE WITH LAUNDRY.
You will run the risk of not getting your laundry clean and leaving it with traces of detergent stains on your clothes.
HALF YOUR DOSAGE OF LAUNDRY DETERGENT WHEN WASHING COATS, QUILTS AND PILLOWS, ESPECIALLY WITH FEATHERED ITEMS.
With too much detergent there is a chance that your washing machine will not be able to wash out all detergent. Instead the detergent will stick and stay in your garment, leading to allergies and skin irritation.
LOWER YOUR TEMPERATURE.
If you can, wash your clothes at a lower temperature. This will make sure your garments will look like new for longer. They will keep their colours and on top of that it is also more environment friendly.
ALWAYS WASH YOUR COLOURED ITEMS IN A COLOUR DETERGENT WITHOUT BLEACH.
It will keep colours looking like new for longer.
IS YOUR WHITE SHIRT REALLY WHITE?
Avoid a grey and gloomy white wash by using a colour detergent. All synthetic is just coloured white, so if you use a white wash detergent you will bleach your clothes and end up with grey garments. For example, always wash white underwear and everything else made out of a stretchy fabric with a colour detergent. If your garments do end up grey, you will have to dye it white. Garments and textiles that are made out of 100% cotton (that will say not dyed white) can be washed with a white wash detergent.
ENVIRONMENT
Always use detergents that are gentle to the nature, dose according to recommendation and if possible never run your washing machine only half full.
NEVER TUMBLE-DRY GARMENTS THAT CONTAIN ELASTANE.
Elastane consist of sensitive fibers that will react with the tumble-driers high temperatures.
WASH JEANS INSIDE OUT.
Make sure you also stretch them out before you hang them up to dry.
When washing jeans, cashmere, wool, silk and functional clothing, use our especially developed fabric softeners, "Delicate" and "Sport".
